People I meet along the way

Well, I have met new friends here, even got to know Cecila’s friend - Wei Ling, after hearing about his story for such a long time. So far, the best time that I have had with him is at KLIA, where we joined the LAN cable and wanted to play DOTA, however the connection seems to be giving problems, so ended up not playing. The second time was at the domestic airport at Moscow, Russia as our flight was delayed. We talked a lot of things, he even told me a lot of bad things regarding Cecilia, hehehe…….

So far, the people here have been good, haven’t really find a big problem to mix around and live with the people here, I believe everyone will be fine as long as we are willing to compromise with each other. And my roommates are Boon Ping and Shing Ling, the both of them are 1 year older then me as one of them did A-levels and the other STPM, and I did SAM, so the 3of use have totally different kind of pre-U background. Till now, these are the updates that I can give you all, God Bless and continue to keep in touch ;)

The Day of departure

The day of my departure have finally come, should I be happy or sad?? Well…….I guess I should be happy. First of all I want to thank My father in Heaven for preparing me for the past 19years for this very special journey. Both my parents for everything that they have done for me, my brothers and sister for all their care and love. Besides that, also my friends or should I say personal guardian angels that have always been taking care of me as their mortal.

People says ‘ The end of a chapter, is the beginning of the next chapter’. Have my story or chapter in Penang, Malaysia end, continuing with the new chapter in Volgograd, Russia?? Well, I am sure the answer is NO, I still and always have friends and people that I love and love me back in Penang.

At the day of departure, YK and others where the first to be at the airport even before when I was there. To everyone who went to the airport to bid me goodbye and giving me gifts and wishes, I am just so glad and touched. Thank You everyone for all you have done and is still doing. Hey guys, I really love the ‘ Golden Nike’ shoe so much, it indeed touched my heart deeply, I never have expected that coming. The love and care that have been given to me over the past years will be taken with me until the day I go six feet under ground. To Eng, yes indeed I did that stupid jump that were been requested. I also give hugs and showed love to people that I love and love me, kisses to my sister and mother, with all my heart I want to show and say THANKS A LOT for all you have done. To know more about me and life in Russia, feel free to view my blog at togodalonebeglory.blogspot.com. I’ll try my best to update it whenever I can.

Thanks a lot to you all..........

Spending the last week with all my beloved friends, is indeed a great feeling for me. It just let me know where I stand in all my friends heart, whether I am inside or outside of their heart. There have been happy times this week, such as playing bowling, having lunch-dinner-supper (I got fatter), playing football, being bullied, bite and even being splash by ‘kopi-sai’ from Coffee Bean (thanks to Edwin) and even to the simplest thing, that is just to sit down and chat.

However honestly speaking, in this week there is also some issues that disturbed me a lot - disappointments from friends, thinking that we are in each others heart, I wanted to spent the golden time together. However, I was totally wrong, yes it hurts me a lot but thank God at least the truth is being told and realized, I just pray that I can be set free from this disappointment before I leave my mother land. Special thanks to all my friends for their time and effort with me especially Eng, Chong Yi, Eugene, Joanne and YK. Ish…….. U all just gonna make me cry out loud even louder. Take care and God Bless, once again thanks a lot , after today I seriously don’t know when will be the next time I can online again.

I was actually quite disappointed at my B’day, I tell myself, what on Earth am I doing in Hiding Place, Today is a special day man, it’s my B’day, aren’t I am suppose to go out and enjoy my day??? Well, I guess I was too mind about my B’day, actually I have a lot of friends to celebrate this very special day with me, its just that they are all busy with work and studies, but thank God around 5.45pm, Jin came to fetch me, we then went for a football game, had dinner with hiding place bros and family, then played CS with church youth until quite late actually, hehehe…..

NiCe........

Not long after I switched on my laptop (wanted to play dota, hehehe…). My phone rang. ‘Eh…..I asked myself who is this???, the initial numbers show that this call is from KL (I taught it was Pei Wen).

Caller: Eh, siao lang.
Macho Ivan: ‘lu si ha ming lang’
Caller: lu ann chua liao?
Macho Ivan: Edwin Toolseram………..(I exclaimed)

It was actually my cooking master from Winter Warmers, he is at the KL branch and calling me from there (they are actually not allowed to do so). Later on, I talk to P.Lim pula. Although the call duration was only 2mins or so, but I felt so touched, he have not being seeing me for less then 2 weeks and he is starting to miss me pula, hahaha…………And naughty me actually sms him the other day and wanted to ‘gasak’ all his vouchers, hahaha…..but he din received that message as his battery when out for 4days. Thanks a lot for your wishes and concerns about me, especially to you Sifu, Edwin Toolseram. See you when you are back in Penang, GBU ;)

I am just so touched..............

I just came back from a drink with my church friends or I would say my best ever buddies. Around 9 something while I was watching Numbers on AXN, suddenly my phone rang and it was a call from Chong Yi, he called me using his own hand phone ( this is actually very unusual for him to call not using his house phone). He asked where was I, and of course I was at home.

After a while, there where no messages from him, I taught he is not coming to my house already. Around 11 something Shaun came back and we played Winning Eleven, not even halfway through the game, I heard noises from my window, turning over, I saw Chong Yi, I was so surprise to see them coming. After hanging at my room for a short while, showing them my stuffs to Russia, we then went for supper, and guess what, Chong Yi actually wanted to bring me to a place that I wanted to go so badly, that it was in my resolution list, I was so happy and touched by his action, thank you so much Chong Yi. Although the place was closed already (didn’t really have the chance to go there), but in did I felt as if I had went there with a group of my buddies.

I was really so very touched by you all. Special thanks to Chong Yi, Tatt and Jun Hao for taking the effort (their house to mine is quite a distance) to have supper with me, I am so happy as if I am in a elevator with the up button being pressed on, it is too much that words cant express, Thanks again and May God continue to Bless you all, and be an angel to others.

My Testimonial Match

Here am I sitting in front of my laptop, trying to recall what happened this afternoon, as the song “Take Me to Your Heart” by MLTR plays on. Today, 10th of September, after coming back from church and my Grandma‘s place, I took a afternoon sleep, woke up at 4 something just before 5pm to prepare myself for my very own testimonial match.
After some warmed up and preparation, the match started, with the usual line up from both sides. For less then 10mins from the blow of the wiser, I had the opening goal from a cross by Richard, I would say good reflex from me, hahaha……….

The match continued with much of laughter and jokes from both sides, although in the between, me and Shaun were being ‘bullied’ by the opposing team but everyone still enjoyed ourselves. As it was my testimonial match, I went all out and picked up some injuries along the way and even made some tackles. The joy from this match was so overwhelming, that it was as if I am a little kid who got a new pair of shoes for CNY.

Conclusion of the match, our team lost 7-3 (I guess, the score was as usual). Had my left eye ‘bengkak’ (thanks to Kelvin, hahaha but it was unintentionally), had scratches on my both legs, (gratitude to Han Chuan, Jin and Z-Yang), had my chess kicked with a loud sound (Tan Han Chuan), replayed the penalty shot by Frank Lampard but the most important of all is that I created the only Hat-Trick of the match, hahaha (but2goals was chances given to me). I enjoyed the game a lot, made myself totally exhausted, but it was all worth.
Thanks to everyone who played the game, bros from The Hiding Place as well as from True Light Baptist Church.

How have Winter Warmers been??

Did you memories your short forms, asked William Ban (supervisor). This was the very first question that I have to answer at my first day of work. Given a pen and paper my short forms where then being tested. At my first week of work, I struggled hard just trying to memories the short forms, table numbers, things and numbers of white sugar, raw sugar, creamer and all shorts of powder to put on different kinds of coffees and orders. I really intended to quit after working for around one month, as I always thought I would have the opportunity to work in a hospital to gain some hospital experience.

However, as the working days goes on, I gradually start to enjoy myself, making many new friends along the way, with collogues and also with customers. The ‘Aunty Gang’ will always drop by to winter warmers to have coffees and sandwiches, they always like to talk with us, but not to be proud, they especially love. Today, is my last day of work, they say too bad is a vegetarian day for them, but they still took the effort to come in and wish me all the best in my future, we even took a group picture together.

After working for 1 and a half month, I was then introduced into the kitchen, been taught by my sifu, Edwin Toolseram. After some months of training, I was then being officially promoted as a kitchen crew (had a slightly higher pay after that). I eventually start to enjoy myself in work, although I don’t look forward to it, but I still enjoy myself when I am doing it. Looking back at those days, if you where to ask me, Ivan do you miss those working days?? I would most probably say, I don’t really miss those days but I miss those time spent together at work.

As they all know that I would be leaving to Russia to further my studies, many have promised and make appointment with me to threat me meals, Ming even gave me a B’day cake in advance, some of them even shared to buy a 2 in 1 pencil and pen for me. I felt the warm heart from the Winter Warmers staff crew. After working for more than 7 months, I actually enjoyed myself and look forward to work with some of them. Taking this opportunity I would want to say my gratitude to Mary(boss), William, Edwin, YK, Ming, Nelson, P. Lim, P. Ven, S. Yee, Sean, Cristin, Jun, Lalat and also S. Wen. Thank you all so much for all you all have done and also the chances given, May God Bless each and everyone of you all uniquely in His very own special way.
